Facial steaming. Raise your hand if you are too lazy to sit there and steam (raises my hand). I get so bored of just sitting there, and waiting, steaming...when I can just wash my face and get it over with, right??
Boy was I brutally reminded that steaming is such a great thing for your skin, and sometimes, it is the best way to cleanse your biggest organ on your body. Yes your skin is an organ :)
I started working full time and this calls for natural makeup everyday. I work with a lot of customers so presentation in this company is always being assessed and you really have to look your very best. That being said, I had to wear makeup almost everyday. Something I am not used to at all. I used to wear makeup only when I go out and that was probably once for the week. Now, it is taking a toll on my skin and I am beginning to break out!!!! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I never ever ever broke out like this before and I know for a fact that it has to do with a few factors...which ALL pertain to working.
1) I wear makeup everyday to work, which clogs my pores and causes buildup on the skin. No matter how much you wash your face, you really don't get what has seeped into those pores.
2) Having a job and going to school full time, gives me literally no time for myself, so when I am hungry, I have to grab something quick (fast food) and head on my way. This is not good at all for your skin because most foods that are fast food has lots of preservatives etc in it and can cause bad skin among many other things.
3) Being at work all day and running to and from school, does not allow me to drink the proper amounts of water that I need which is a great benefit for the skin. If water = life, then its the shit!
4) Lack of proper sleep/rest and stress can also cause bad skin, so my point is, don't work. LOL just kidding.
The Problem: If you are washing and taking care of your skin, but still breaking out because of wearing makeup and no other reason, then this is for you. I wash my skin with Clean and Clear Oxygenating Morning Burst Detoxifying Cleanser. Then, I use an astringent by Neutrogena that is an oil free acne stress control toner. Then I moisturize of course. Although this DOES help to control it, it does not solve it.
The Solution: Steam or Sweat. Yes sweat sounds gross but it is so beneficial and crucial for your skins health. Sweating gets all impurities and toxins out of our skin that we pick up from the polluted environment and from topical products that we "think" cleanses our skin when it really only clogs our pores more and pushes what is already in our pores deeper. Sweating pushes out these impurities from our pores and causes us to have more radiant, clean, and youthful looking skin.
When you have no time to hit the gym, bust out your steaming skills. There are TONS of videos on YouTube showing how to steam at home so check it out. Steaming is the alternative to sweating and it eliminates most of your clogged pores which in turn gives acne no life!!!!! mo0hahahahha PLUS ITS FREE GUYS!! Wheres the like button?!
You guys have to remember that there are tons of great products out there, but how can you solve something from within by putting something on top and blocking the pores from breathing? I'm not saying to not use your products, by all means do, but treat yourself once or twice a month to a steam!
WARNING!!! PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN USING STEAM. DO NOT BURN YOUR SKIN WITH PIPING HOT WATER. MAKE SURE AND RESEARCH CAREFULLY BEFORE DOING THIS SO YOU CAN DO IT PROPERLY.
Happy Steaming everyone!!!

Its the holidays, there are going to be so many parties and get togethers, and we want to look fab! Lets be real, we are going to be pulling all nighters, partying like the animals that we are, and our makeup HAS to last!! Why? Because there is always someone with that super cool digital camera that has a million megapixels on it, and poor you will not know that your makeup has faded and got all grungy looking until you find out on Facebook the very next day. sigh... It could happen ladies and gentlemen...it could happen. So, to save ourselves from that dreadful thought, here are some tips for each feature of the face on how to have long lasting holiday makeup!!
Eyes: The holidays are a great time to play up the eyes and be a bit more daring than we usually are! We can do lots of smokey browns, gold tones, cranberry colors, and not to mention GLiTTER!! There are so many fun ways to do your makeup for the holidays no matter what age you are. I would recommend that if you are planning on doing a fun and more colorful shadow, do not put on your foundation before. This way you can wipe off any excess fall out. We all make mistakes...if we dont make them, then we make nothing. I would recommend that you start off the eye with a great base. Some popular bases are Urban Decay Primer Potion, M-A-C Paint Pots, or Too Faced Shadow Insurance. If you dont have this at hand, just use a tiny bit of foundation on a brush on your lid and this should work well too.
Another great tip is to use waterproof mascaras and eyeliners so there will be less smudging! Setting your liner with an eyeshadow also helps your makeup to not smear as well. Here are some amazing waterproof mascara and eyeliners.
Face: I know you all have heard it LOTS of times, but who cares, hear it again for the sake of beauty!! LESS IS MORE! Too much foundation looks so bad in person and in pictures. A primer is a great investment for your foundation to last long, apply smoother, and look flawless throughout the night. A great winter tip is to mix your foundation and concealer with a bit of your moisturizer. This will allow your face to stay hydrated and to lessen the opacity of the foundation. Creme blushes are more natural looking during the winter as it gives the cheeks a natural 'from within' flush of color. High-ligthers for the cheek bones are also very fancy for the winter as it gives that warm holiday glow to your skin. A great highlighter is Moon Beam by Benefit. Apply powder sparingly mainly to your T-Zone and places where you get oily fast. Spritz ur face with FixPlus from M-A-C or MUFE Mist & Fix to set.
Lips: There is nothing more that craves hydration during the winter time more than your lips. Boy do they need extra care and attention during the cold winter days. Did you know that unlike the rest of your skin, your lips does not shed dead skin on its own? This is why our lips feel so dry and somtimes look so dull. A great home made way to exfoliate your lips is with some simple sugar (NOT SALT). Lightly damp your lips with water and gently rub some sugar granules over your lips in small circular motions. Rinse after and apply a spf protecting lip balm. When puting on makeup for the holidays, this will help your lipstick to apply so much smoother and look great on your lips. Make sure and use a lip liner for extra lasting effects. If you use lipgloss a lot, do not expect your lips to last long. Thats where your cute clutch comes in handy. Toss in a lipstick and lipgloss for touch ups and you are done you hot thing you!!
Happy makeup adventures!
I hope that you guys can use some of these tips for your winter holiday make up. I would love to see some of the makeup looks you come up with. Please post or email me!! firstname.lastname@example.org

About a week ago I received my very first order from Shoe Dazzle. All I can say is that I am very impressed with the quality of the bag that I got. It feels as if it was worth more than $100. The material used is amazing and strong. The lining inside the purse is stitched on perfectly and feels tremendously sturdy. The material inside is also gorgeous. Enough of the blabbering, the picture story follows...
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
This is what the package looks like when it is shipped to your house from LA.
When you open the box...its pink inside with the Shoe Dazzle logo!!!! It comes with an invoice/receipt that shows exactly what you ordered, and also a return shipping label. Very professional and customer considerate.
After removing those papers, this is what the product is wrapped in. White paper with a pink sticker with the Shoe Dazzle logo on it.
Open up the paper wrap and viola!! This is freakin cute guys!! IT COMES WITH A PINK SHOE DAZZLE STORAGE BAG!! yay!!! This shows how much thought this company puts into their product presentation and how they want their customer to feel as if they were given the very best. I absolutely love the fact that I have a bag that I can store and protect my purse in. Perfect.
Heres what it looks like standing. Uber cute.
Theres MY ARIZONA =) LIKE!
The handles came wrapped for protection...amazing packaging.
Stitching and embellishments are done with taste.
It even came with a strap, which I personally would not use, but great to have for someone who may.
Heres what the inside looks like, there are two compartments separated by a zipper pocket in the middle. Not too thrilled about the color inside but the quality of the material is amazing. The feel and strength of it is probably better than some of the high fashion purses that I do own. It feels as if the lining is three times thicker than a normal purse.
So here is my unbiased and truthful review for my first order from ShoeDazzle. I have nothing but great things to say about them. First off, the packaging was perfect and some. I love the fact that they included a storage bag for the purse. The color of the purse which is sort of a charcoal color is great. Its hard to find purses in that color so I love it. I don't really like the color of the lining inside the purse. BUT, the quality of the material really makes up for that. The materials used feels as if it is worth WAY more than $40. I was expecting less to be honest. I thought for $40 bucks a month there is no way I'm going to get something good, but I should trust in Kim Kardashian :) I absolutely love this purse. There is nothing bad that I have to say about it and I cannot wait to order something else from ShoeDazzle. I feel as if I bought something that is super expensive for a great deal!!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
